Bayern Munich Have Given Alphonso Davies One Week Ultimatum

Bayern Munich have reportedly given Alphonso Davies an ultimatum of one week to submit his decision of signing a new contract or be put on for sale this summer. With the 23-year-old full back seemingly reluctant to extend his time in Munich, the club has resolved on taking a hard stand to make sure that he does not leave for free upon the expiry of his contract in June 2025.

It's believed that Bayern are offering the Canadian international a 5-year deal worth around $15 million per season as gross salary, which is about a $3 million annual pay rise on his current $234,000 weekly wage but quite low compared to the $21 million-a-year he and his management are demanding.

In case Davies refuses to sign what the Bavarians have offered and fails to reach an agreement of a new deal, reports suggest that he will be put on sale, with an asking price tag of $65 million, which is almost 3 times the $22 million Bayern paid to Vancouver Whitecaps for his services back in July 2018.

At the same time, Real Madrid who have remained the favorites to sign Davies are apparently unwilling to pay the set price tag insisting that Bayern must lower their number for there to be a deal this summer.

With the Ghanaian born left-black looking set for the exit this July, Bayern have supposedly made a list of their preferred replacements. Top of their list being 26-year-old French and AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez, younger brother to their former defender Lucas, who left for PSG last summer. Also on Bayern's radar is Chelsea's 22-year-old, Ian Maatsen, who is currently enjoying a great loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
