As the Summer transfer window closed on Friday night, there were some huge deadline transfers but others collapsed.


Chelsea out of favor winger Raheem Sterling joined London rivals on a surprising season long loan while his teammate Armando Broja was shipped to Everton on a similar deal. Jadon Sancho joined Chelsea on a season long loan from Manchester United who landed a new defensive midfielder by signing Manuel Ugarte on a 5 year contract from PSG for a transfer fee of $67 million inclusive of add- ons. In addition, the Reds snapped 18 year old midfielder Sekou Kone straight from Mali.


Crystal Palace strengthened their defense by securing the services of versatile defender Trevor Chalobah on a season long loan from Chelsea and signed Eddie Nketiah on a 5 year contract from Arsenal. The Gunners also sold their second choice goalkeeper Aaaron Ramsdale to Southampton where he committed his future for the next 4 years. Following Ramsdale's exit, Bournemouth's number 3 shotsstopper Neto was brought in to fill his spot. Another Arsenal departee was winger Reiss Nelson who joined Fulham on a season long loan.


West Ham United snatched Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler on a season long deal from PSG and allowed James Ward Prowse to join Nottingham Forest until June 2025.


Tammy Abraham switched Rome (AS Roma) for Milan (AC Milan) on season long loan while former Manchester United loanee Sofyane Amrabat took his talent to Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce from Fiorentina for the next 10 months.


Scott McTominay left Manchester United and penned a 5 year deal with Napoli same as his Brighton counterpart Billy Gilmor who arrived on a permanent deal for an initial fee of $14 million.


Chelsea unwanted goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic said okay for a season long loan at French League side RC Strasbourg while forward Neal Maupay ditched Everton to spent the rest of the 2024 25 season on loan at Olympique Marseille.


The biggest exit from Europe was Ivan Toney who could not resist that big check from Saudi Arabia, turning down interest from Chelsea to sign a 4-year contract with Al-Ahli on a transfer fee of $52.5 million from Brentford.


While most the players were happy with their transfers, Victor Osimhen's desperate plan to leave Naples fell through after stalling on a Chelsea switch only for Napoli's request for an extra $5.5 million from Al-Ahli to collapse his $44 million-a-season 4-year from the Saudi pro-League side.
