Endrick Unveiled As Real Madrid Player

Endrick Felippe Moreira de Souza aka Endrick, broke down and sobbed during his official unveiling as a Real Madrid player in front of 43000 at Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.


590 days after agreeing to join Real Madrid from Brazilian giants Palmeiras in December 2022 for a reported fixed transfer fee of $38 million and another $27 million in add ons, the Brazilian forward, who turned 18 on Sunday, finally signed a 6-year contract on Saturday morning after passing his medicals.


As Endrick walked onto the iconic Madrid pitch amid earsplitting cheers from the thousands in attendance, it was not only a proud moment but also a dream come true. A dream that was recapped with the playing of a 2018 video in which at only 12 years, he declared that he would become a professional football player and join Los Blancos.


It was reason neither him nor his father Douglas and mother, both of whom struggled during his early years, could not hold back tears as the teenager joined Madrid president Florentino Perez on the main stage for the long awaited introduction.


"Good afternoon everyone. I want to thank everyone for coming to Santiago. I'm not going to lie to you, I didn't expect all this. So many people like that and the fans are crazy. I'm very happy because since I was a kid, I've always been a Madrid fan and today I'm going to play with Real Madrid. Now I want everyone to join with me; 3, 2, 1, Hala Madrid," he said in Spanish amid deafening applause and cheers that interrupted him severally forcing him into tears. Luckily, Perez was quickly show him the wipes to soak his emotional and happy tears.
