Cristiano Ronaldo Ruled Out of Al Nassr vs Inter Miami Last Dance Match

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to miss the hugely anticipated 'Last dance' match between his side Al-Nassr and Lionel Messi's Inter Miami on Thursday. Confirming the news in a press conference on Wednesday, Al-Nassr manager Luis Castro said, "Ronaldo is in the final part of his recovery to join the group and we hope that in the next few days he will start training with the team. So he will be absent from the game."

The announcement came amid doubts on the 38-year-old's fitness level after sustaining an injury during a training session in Shenzhen last week which resulted in the cancellation of Al-Nassr's 2 fixtures against Chinese Super League sides.

Ronaldo's absence in the Thursday game leaves fans deprived of the excitement attached to the meeting of the two best players over the last 2 decades, but for those who had already grabbed the tickets to the game which range from $200 to as high as $13,000, it will be an opportunity to watch the former Barcelona quartet of Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba leading the Herons in a desperate search for their first victory of the pre-season.

Still win-less over their last 11 games (since September 2023), Inter Miami will likely put on a show for those in attendance and the millions watching around the world.

Meanwhile, with Messi and Ronaldo still having more than a year left in their contracts with their respective clubs, it will be interesting to see whether the two will meet again on the pitch before the end of their careers.
